MY BEGINNING…

Yes, you read it right. This is my New Year’s Resolution. It’s 5 months late, you say. I say, it is the perfect time for me. New Year’s Resolutions happen all year long. No one can tell you that you have to wait for December 31st to make a change in your life. People are always determining to make changes in their lives at all times of the year and for various reasons. This is my new beginning, and I don’t want to limit myself to one specific change. I want to make many changes. With one small step, the journey can be completed. For in your determination to begin, you can find the resolve to finish. The journey has to begin somewhere, and my somewhere is here. This is the beginning of my New Year’s Resolution.

THE DISCLAIMER…

I want to start by saying, that I am NOT an expert on any of the topics that I will discuss. I am learning, making mistakes, trying new things, and adjusting for what makes sense and works for me and my family, and current life situation. That will look different for you and all the readers of this blog. Tomorrow it may need to change again depending on the lemons life throws at me.

THE CATALYST…

I got a wakeup call from my doctor the other day. I am Type 2 Diabetic and she indicated that I have a couple of options to try to keep my blood sugar under control before we move to taking insulin. I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE INSULIN! The only option then is…I have to make some changes. I have to change my diet. I have to change my exercise. I have to change my attitude. I have to change my stress level. I have to change…everything!

THE RESOLUTION…

This realization led me to this resolution. I want to make one small change, one step towards a better me every day. Therefore, if I want to change, I also need to be held accountable. That’s where you and this blog come in, accountability. I am spilling it all here. I am showing the world that this person I am, flawed and inconsistent, can do this. I am capable of great things. My life is different every day, and what I can fit into it to make myself a better version of me may be different every day as well.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS…

Change is a grand adventure, and I plan to enjoy as much of this journey as possible. Ride along with me. Each week I will post what I have done each day to create positive change.

Let the Adventures Begin, Tes
